The remains of the late Ateneo Blue Eagles player arrived in Nigeria on Thursday, before being transported to the eastern part of the country for his burial.

“Tomorrow, we lay our son, our brother and our Odogwu to rest and as per the request of his friends, we have plans to stream his burial online through this account for his Filipino friends, his teammates and love ones to join. Thank you all for your love and concern in this difficult time. Rest well, Chuks. You left as our pride. You returned as our pain. You remain, forever, our love. 🕊️🤍,” she wrote.

The remains of Adili were flown from Manila on Monday, after the Ateneo de Manila University held a candlelight service, daily masses and public wake.

Adili and his teammate Rene Baterbonia passed away after drowning during a team-building activity in Dipaculao, Aurora last June 8.
